ELLIE was born and raised in Japan and has loved dance since she was a little girl. Ellie began her dance career in Japan where she started learning Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Reggae, Hiphop, Tap, African, Heels, Locking, House and more. She has performed many places with the Dance Crew in Tokyo, Japan then decided to move to LA to pursue her passion in dance and continue her training. She went to Santa Monica College majoring in Dance where she took a variety of dance classes while going to college. She attended many different dance studios such as; Millennium, Edge Dance Performing Center, Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, IDA, Movement, Hype Studio and more to learn different styles. (Sadly most of these studios no longer exist and were forced to close due to COVID-19)
Ellie has met many amazing dance teachers during her time as a student which were some of the most valuable moments and precious times in her life. After she graduated College, Ellie joined a Dance Company to perform many places in Southern California such as; World of Dance, MaxOut, Carnival in Hollywood, Rage and more. She also has a lot of experience participating in different auditions as a dancer, for acting, character and more where she had passed some. Ellie was also a background dancer for reggae singers in LA. She also lived in NY where she studied NY Dance styles at Broadway Dance Center, Steps On Broadway, The Ailey Studios (Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater) and more.
Over the years she has grown to love teaching. She has taught in Japan and Los Angeles, CA. When she first moved to Oregon, she taught at Kathryn Howard’s School of Dance for years before finally deciding to open her own studio in Winston. Ellie loves seeing the fun on her student’s faces in class while sharing her passion and love of dance with them. Ellie loves sharing her experience and helping others improve their dance skills and coordination and self confidence. If anyone is interested in pursuing a career in the dance industry or entertainments, she loves to give advice advice and/or recommendations. She loves to help people in general.
We'd love to hear from you.
